About the role:
As a vital member of the Financial Services team, you will be responsible for managing unpaid debtor accounts and overseeing the collection of outstanding debts across all areas of Council. You will play a key part in maintaining and following QLDC's debtor management processes, ensuring clear communication with debtors and collaboration with other QLDC teams.

Responsibilities of the role:
  • Driving the prompt collection of overdue accounts, including managing payment arrangements and escalations to collection agencies or legal representatives.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to develop and enhance debt management policies,
    procedures, and reporting.
  • Leading regular debt management meetings and maintaining accurate records of collection activities.
  • Supporting customer payment inquiries and assisting the Accounts Receivable and support teams as needed.
  • Contributing to process improvements aimed at reducing overdue debts while documenting and refining procedures.

What you'll bring to the role:
You will be a detail-oriented finance professional with at least five years’ experience in collections, accounts receivable, or transactional accounting. You will be highly organized, methodical, and capable of managing tasks independently while meeting tight deadlines. Proficiency in financial systems, Microsoft Office, and process improvement is essential, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Tertiary Level Finance Qualification – Level 5
  • Demonstrated experience in a range of financial systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with an excellent eye for detail with the ability to effectively multitask
