About the role:
You will be responsible for entering and issuing building consents and all administration tasks in relation to the requirements of the Building Act 2004 and Building Control Authority.

Responsibilities of the role:
  • Receiving, processing and issuing consent applications, including sourcing information and verifying accuracy of information obtained with the appropriate staff.
  • Dealing with initial customer inquiries and offer advice on a wide range of legalisation and applications including; Building consents, Building Act, LGOIMA requests, Building Control
    Authority regulations. 
  • Booking inspections for multiple Building Control Officers across the QLDC area, understanding the BCA requirement of the BCO’s competency, inspection types and the geographical area.
  • Managing all documentation relating to the consent processes.

What you'll bring to the role:
You will have a minimum of 5 years working in a building environment or administration. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral and demonstrated planning and organisational skills with an excellent eye for detail and the ability to effectively multitask.

  • Minimum education of NCEA Level 3 or National Certificate Level 3.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
  • Well-developed computer knowledge, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office, word, excel and other databases/software applications.
