About the role:
We’re looking for a Graduate planner who is ready to expand their horizons, embrace that vital balance between working hard and playing hard, be motivated to Bring Your Best to work and life alike and inspired to represent a Council with other high-performing professionals, who enjoy working collaboratively in our Team.

Responsibilities of the role:
  • Undertaking the role of Duty Planner for public enquiries.
  • Processing planning information checks for building consent applications (PIMs) and planning compliance checks for Alcohol Licenses.
  • Processing and draft decisions for resource consent applications, ensuring delivery to quality standards and within set timeframes.
  • Ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are maintained in relation to responsibilities.
  • Implementing and continually improving service delivery policies, processes, and systems to provide effective and efficient resource consenting activities.

What you'll bring:
You will be a highly motivated, achievement-oriented, and innovative professional with a can-do and outcome-focused attitude.

To best succeed in this role, you’ll have:
  • Tertiary degree qualification (or studying towards) in Resource Management/ Urban Planning (related discipline may be considered)
  • Membership of the New Zealand Planning Institute or eligible for membership
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Full driver’s license.
