We're seeking a leader with a strong background in programme management, particularly in infrastructure, & local government. You'll need to have the ability to manage a significant programme, lead teams, & navigate complex stakeholder relationships.

About the role:
You will lead the delivery of capital infrastructure projects within QLDC’s Project Management Office (PMO). By directing and supporting internal and consultant Project Managers, you will ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. You will also be responsible for ensuring a focus on industry best practice, and will bring innovative methods, to how we do that.

You will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in delivering successful capital projects and programmes, with advanced knowledge of programme and project management methodologies. Yourstrong commercial and procurement skills will be essential for driving efficiency, managing risks, and achieving the best project outcomes.

About the role:
You will lead the delivery of capital infrastructure projects within QLDC’s Project Management Office (PMO). You will also be responsible for ensuring a focus on industry best practice, and will bring innovative methods, to how we do that.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Managing internal and external resources, including legal, planning, quantity surveying, scheduling, design, and construction consultants and contractors.
- Utilising your excellent organisational skills, you will manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, while tracking spend, forecasting, and addressing risks and issues as they arise.
- Developing and managing procurement strategies to support efficient and cost-effective project delivery.
- Managing Capital Works delivery panels, monitoring performance against Key Result Areas (KRAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Bringing both energy and drive to the delivery of projects in a complex environment. Working alongside an engaged and vibrant team. Providing exceptional leadership skills to drive success and resiliency.
- Delivering the ten-year infrastructure improvement programme valued at over $1.7bn in one of the fastest growing districts in New Zealand.
